Independent Load Assessment & Methodology Approval by NPC

As part of a £650k DEIZN-funded (EEF9030) project, Reoptimize Systems (REOS) advanced wind turbine efficiency through state-of-the-art control optimisation and high-fidelity modelling.

By combining aeroelastic and aerodynamic simulations, high-resolution SCADA data, turbine interaction modelling, and precise 3D blade scanning, REOS significantly improved modelling accuracy—enabling more effective optimisation across multiple wind farms worldwide.

Key outcomes include:

  • Up to 2.5% AEP increase demonstrated at Grevenbroich, Germany
  • Development of three new turbine models, applicable across OEMs and drive-train types
  • Multi-site validation, including offshore deployment (e.g. Horns Rev 2)
  • Independent third-party certification confirming safety and robustness

A key part of the project was delivered in collaboration with Natural Power Consultants (NPC), who conducted an independent assessment of REOS’s load analysis methodology.

Conclusion:
REOS’s approach is fully aligned with industry best practices. Independent validation confirmed that our optimisation does not increase turbine loads, and that our load assessment process is both rigorous and compliant with the highest industry standards.

Result: certified, scalable optimisation delivering higher energy yield, lower risk, and extended turbine life.
